Ooc: Thanks Smoke, that actually helped a little XD

"What is it?" Owl asked, "What have you found."
"It's a report on an alien of some kind," Toby explained, reading the article out loud. It explained the reason for some disappearances of humans could be connected to the deeds of one particular extra-terrestrial life-form. Apparently this alien is said to steal people randomly and take away any contact with 'the human realm'.

"Okay..." Toby began doubtfully, "And this is what you think happened to Charlie? An alien abducted her?"

Ooc: Glad to hear X3

The Doctor snapped his fingers and then pointed them at Toby with a wide grin on his face. "Yes, exactly. Owl, you've been saying you've been hearing sounds, right? What do they say?" He asked with his face and tone becoming more serious with each word.

---If Owl didn't say anything about hearing noises, reply to this one instead :3

The Doctor snapped his fingers and then pointed them at Toby with a wide grin on his face. "Yes, exactly. Now we just need to figure out where they are keeping her. Have either of you noticed anything recently that wasn't there before people started to go missing?" He asked, his tone getting more and more serious with each passing second as well as the emotion shown on his face.

Ooc: I'll answer the first one x3

"Yes," Owl said, jumping up, "But they don't really say anything at all. It's more like a horrid blast of noises that make no sense. They actually dull you senses, taking over your whole mind. How can I explain it... It's like the static from a phone or TV. Does that make sense?"
Owl was just praying that with this information, the Doctor could help them.

The Doctor gave a small 'hmm'. Static noise. Never heard of that one before. "Yes, it does make sense. But I'm afraid that I don't know what that means," He said, looking at Owl and Toby, his eyes dancing between them, trying to find a hint of what the static meant.

"What do you men, 'you don't know'?" Owl asked, frustrated and confused, "You must know. You're the Doctor, you know everything. You got us into this mess, so get us out of it!"

The Doctor looked at Owl, his face grave as his eyes stared at her from underneath his eyebrows. "I did not get you into this, Owl. I'd planned for only Charlie to help, but she's gone and now I need your help. I would've asked Charlie for the article and nothing more! I didn't plan for this to happen, but it did," He said, his voice threatening to rise with each word.

Owlen recoiled and said nothing. She knew the Doctor was right, it wasn't his fault, she just wanted things to go back to normal.
"I know," Owl said at last, "I just want Charlie back."

The Doctor sighed at the much younger girl. "We all do, Owl. And that's why you, with your brilliant mind, are going to help me."

The Doctor seemed to think for a moment, before finally replying. "We need to go through London ASAP. Tell me when the buzzing noise is at it's highest, and also, please tell me you have some sort of car."

Re: The Static Hour {Private}

Owl thought for a moment. She had been hearing the static all day, but where was it the most unbearable? She guessed it must have been at work.
Looking up and snapping her fingers, the girl said, "Got it! Doctor, Toby, come with me."
Owlen made her way through the wooden door of the TARDIS and made her way towards the car park. She managed, by pure instinct more than anything else, to find their car, sitting in its same reserved spot.
It was a pretty crappy car, but it was all either of them could afford after they finished college and got the flat.

Re: The Static Hour {Private}

The Doctor excitedly got into the backseat, leaving the shotgun and driver's seat open. He could easily direct from the back, and Toby would have to drive, and Owl would have to listen as much as she could and tell where it was coming from.
With the door still open, he said, "Well, what are you waiting for?" He very much so enjoyed car rides, much like a dog. He rarely got to go on some, since he used his TARDIS for everything.

Ooc: You guys have really small cars. Like, really small. This is the average sized car we Americans use:

Seven seater, four wheel drive, comfortable spacing, an TVs on the back of the front two seats. Oh, and our drivers sit on the left side. Why do you guys drive on the right side? (Sorry, never been able to ask someone about this stuff that actually grew up with it. If it's awkward for you just tell me and I'll stop :3)

Re: The Static Hour {Private}

Toby climbed into the driving seat next to Owl as she told him to head to her workplace. They drove along until they pulled up outside Doug's house.
Before Owlen could climb out, Toby said, "Wait. What are you going to tell Doug? That a spaceman landed outside your house and he wants to find your friend by listening to static? Somehow I don't think you boss will buy that."
"Don't worry," the young woman said calmly, "He's out visiting family all day today. And I've got a spare key."
With no other dilemmas, Owl climbed out of the car and headed for the house. She unlocked the door and made her way to her office, where she sat at her desk writing movie reviews to upload onto Doug's site.
Owl loved movies. Though she couldn't see them anymore, commentary throughout a film helps, and the sound alone is able to conjure up pictures in her mind. Also, she was really good at writing great reviews that were very funny as well, which is exactly what Doug Walker wanted for his site.

Ooc: Yeah, we're not that advanced over here;) I actually have no idea why we drive on the right when pretty much everyone else drives on the left xD Seriously, like two other countries drive on the right. I guess we just like being difficult x3

The Doctor followed Owl out of the car, a bit sad that the car ride was over. He followed her into the building. Inside was a beige waiting room. Perhaps for interviews or something?
"Alright, show me where you've been hearing the static," The Doctor sort of asked/ordered. He needed to figure this out as soon as possible.

With a nod, Owl proceeded to lead her friends to her office at the end of a small corridor. The room was small too, with only a computer at a desk, along with a few books written in braille scattered over the work surface. Around the white walls were shelves and bookcases filled with folders of past work and DVDs of films she and her few colleagues had reviewed.
"It came in really strong when I was working," Owl said, slumping onto her desk chair, "I was sitting at my desk when it kicked in, really strong, almost deafening; like something was shouting at me in another language."

The Doctor looked around the cozy workspace. It looked like somewhere Owl would work, obviously. Not too neat, not too messy, but in the middle somewhere.
He sat down in the chair, gazing down at his locked hands, concentrating. He couldn't hear anything.
"Do you hear it yet?" The Doctor asked Owl, curious to know.

Ooc: Maybe one of Owl's co-workers went missing and that's who she's hearing? Or do you want it to be Charlie?

Re: The Static Hour {Private}

Ooc: I think it should just be Owl, but I really don't mind. If you had plans or something for her co-workers, then that's fine;)

Owl listened closely. Nothing caught her sensitive ears straight away, but as she honed her remaining senses and blocked everything else out, the young woman finally caught a faint humming, buzzing sound. It wasn't quite static like before, it was much fainter and duller; as though she was more feeling a thing's presence than hearing them talk.
"It's there, but it's very faint and kind of muted," Owlen reported back to her friends.

"Ask it to say something," The Doctor said, not realizing that Charlie rolled her eyes at this. She was invisible, not crippled and invisible.

Owlen, hearing a slightly clearer sound than before, closed her eyes again and honed her senses to listen. "Talk to me," she whispered ever so quietly, "Speak again."

Oh, this was too good. How could Charlie ever let a chance like this get past her? She was definitely not going to wait until she was dead, so might as well get it off her bucket list once and for all.
Leaning down to her friend's ear, struggling not to smile, she said, "Boo."

Owl's right ear was suddenly filled with the static noise again, much clearer now, but not harsh and painful like before. For some reason, it jumped her, and the young woman couldn't help but start laughing. She could hardly stop.
Owlen only managed to supress her giggles when she saw Toby and the Docter looking at her with very confused expressions. Clearing her throat and addressing the Doctor through a poorly hiden smile, she said, "Umm... yeah, it's around here."

Re: The Static Hour {Private}

Owlen thought for a moment, looking for the right words to describe the noise.
"It was like a sudden 'poof' of bubbly static," she replied at last, "But it wasn't a bad sound this time. It was a lot gentler than last time... Less... scared..."
Owl began to stare into the distance. It was as though she had sub-conciously discovered the key to understanding this static language. Because of this, the last sentence she spoke was only a mumble, barely audioble.

"What?" she heard Toby ask, clearly confused at what she had said.

This snapped Owl out of her trance, "Huh?"

"What did you just say?"

"Less loud," Owlen replied, more present now, "It was a lot quieter than before."

The Doctor nodded, understanding what Owl was getting at. "It wasn't as hyper-ventilated as before, was it?" He reasoned, so Toby could indirectly figure out what the blind girl had meant.
